Phycomycin is a Sodium Carbonate Peroxyhydrate based algaecide that is a wonderful tool in small ponds where oxygen depletion is a major concern. As the active ingredient in this product breaks down it puts more Oxygen into the water column which helps to counteract the dying plants that are removing it. This product is designed to be used where copper is not an option such as Koi ponds and Trout farms.
Does not restrict use of water for swimming, fishing, irrigation, stock watering, drinking or domestic use following treatment.
PHYCOMYCIN® SCP USE
Is labeled as an algaecide for use in Lakes, Ponds, Drinking Water Reservoirs; Irrigation, Drainage, and
Lists Blue-Green Algae as the primary target species, but may be legally used to control other susceptible forms within labeled use sites providing dosage rates are not exceeded.
Is used at dosages between 3.0 and 100 lbs per acre-foot for control of nuisance algae, providing concentrations between 0.3 and 10.2 ppm hydrogen peroxide, respectively.
Works great on Chara, Filamentous Algae, Planktonic Algae
